Wild Party

Well it’s baby season! First of all take a look at the first couple pictures; do you know what those are? I started out my day with a call about a momma opossum that had been hit by a car and she had babies all around her. When I got there, the momma was already gone along with some of her babies :( Although it looked like she had a proper service. Some girls that were having a sleepover found her and they had made an “R.I.P.” sign for her in the street. Three of them were still surviving though and were as cute as can be! I was able to transport them to wildlife rescue who took them, so hopefully they are surviving strong. I sent a picture to my friend Sara who thought they were cute while she thought they were rats, but thought it was disgusting when she found out they were opossums! I thought it was funny that she thought it was a rat, I never pick up rats! So of course later that day I get a call for a domestic rat someone had confined! I guess that teaches you to never say never. Another officer called me and told me she found a baby skunk. Fortunately I got to see it before she took it to rescue. It was so cute! There were more pictures of me with the skunk, but unfortunately when she went to burn the pictures onto a cd for me, the photos got deleted.

Then Kahlua had her 6th birthday party! It was great fun as her buddy Sancho came over, who she hadn’t seen since her birthday the year before and Zoey hadn’t seen him in years. All the pups were sooo excited to see one another, it took over a half hour before they finally calmed down! No cake this year, but the doggies enjoyed peanut butter ice cream, mint chocolate treats, and delicious vanilla/carob cookies. I can’t believe she is 6 already; she’s growing up so quickly ;)
